Melinda Johnson

Funeral Services for Ms. Melinda "Mule" Johnson will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 1:00PM at the Wilkinson County High School Auditorium. Rev. Donald Williams will officiate. Interment will follow at the Parker Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

On June 21, 1964, a bundle of joy was born to the late Mr. Mack Bell and the late Mrs. Daisy Johnson Sims. Melinda attended Wilkinson County Public School and was a member of the Class of ‘83! At an early age she joined Parker Spring Baptist Church. On February 16, 2020, the book of life closed for Melinda Antoinette Johnson at the Coliseum Medical Center in Macon, Georgia. Melinda was preceded in death by her son, Travis Knight, stepfather, Samuel L Sims, father, Mack Bell and her mother Daisy Sims.

Melinda leaves to cherish her memories two children: Katrina Johnson of Irwinton, and Trevino Knight of Milledgeville; six grandchildren: Devontez Johnson, Akemeya Johnson, Michael Mims, Jr., Kimora Johnson and Mahki Johnson all of Irwinton and Trinity Knight of Detroit, MI. Two Great Grandsons: Jayceon Johnson of Milledgeville, GA and Dallas Johnson of Marietta, GA. Six Sisters: Latonya Stubbs (Gary), Celena Shinholster (Riley), Patricia Sims of Irwinton, GA. Cynthia Hughes (Shawn), Sarah Sims of Gordon, GA and MacKenzie Bell of Gray, GA. Two brothers, Julius Sims (Kimberly) of Ivey, GA and Clinton Simmons of Gordon, GA. Two Uncles, Eddie Johnson of East Point, GA and James Shinholster of Irwinton, GA. Three Great Aunts Alma Walker of McIntyre, GA, Christine Walker of Irwinton, GA and Ella Mae Brown of Sandersville, GA. Four special brothers/cousins: Christopher Johnson, Derek Johnson, Kevin Johnson and Nathan Johnson and a special sister/cousin, Janis Smith (Reginald). Along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Public Viewing will be held on Friday, February 21, from 1-7 at the Funeral Home. Wilkinson County Memorial Chapel, has charge of arrangements.
